UPCOMING PRODUCTIONS:
Madama Butterfly ~ June 8-9, 2012

Principal roles:
The roles of Cio-Cio-San, Suzuki, Pinkerton and Sharpless will be single cast for 2 performances and paid an honorarium for each performance rendered. A paid cover for each role will also be engaged.

Comprimari roles:
Kate, Goro, Yamadori, The Bonze, Commissioner, Registrar and family members will be single cast. Singers will receive a small per-performance honorarium and assist in the volunteer ensemble.

Ensemble singers:
A four-part ensemble of 12 volunteer singers will be engaged. Some singers will be selected to cover smaller roles.

Child needed - Madama Butterfly: Calling all opera Moms and Dads - Chelsea Opera will be casting Cio-cio-san's son for our 2012 June production of Madama Butterfly. If you have a 4 year old young boy who is showing signs of the acting bug and might be interested in portraying Dolore, please let us know. Blond (or light brown), curly haired 4-year old preferrable, but will consider others. Rehearsals will be minimal during the month of May leading up to performance on Jun 7-9, 2012. Auditions are by invitation only. Local singers preferred as no housing or transportation provided. Managed or unmanaged singers welcome but must be of professional caliber. A strong dramatic sense is as important as quality of voice. Applicants must affirm they are available through the entire rehearsal period. Any/all conflicts must be listed in advance and be approved by Company. Send resume, headshot and mp3 file of a live performance to auditions@chelseaopera.org. (Please do not submit materials unless you are available for the entire rehearsal period.)

MADAMA BUTTERFLY SCHEDULE:
Coachings (required)
will take place April 16-29, 2012 in Manhattan.
Rehearsals (required) will begin on or about April 30, 2012 in Manhattan
(primarily M-F evenings with a possible Saturday or two). Schedule TBA and subject to change.

Performances
: June 8, 2012 at 7:30pm and matinee June 9 at 4:00pm

Location of performances:
St. Peter’s Church in Chelsea – 346 W 20th Street, NYC (between 8th/9th Ave.)

Submission Requirements:
Submit your resume, headshot and one audio file (only if a LIVE performance, not a studio recording) noting in the subject line the role(s) in which you are interested to: auditions@ChelseaOpera.org.
