PRINCIPAL AUDITIONS
Auditions for PRINCIPAL ROLES in Chelsea Opera's upcoming May 15-18th, 2008 production of Douglas Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe are being scheduled for early February 2008 (SEE AUDITION SPECIFICS BELOW). All roles are open for consideration. Most roles are double cast and performances will be with chamber orchestra.

Honorarium paid to principals for all performances. Local residents preferred, as no housing or transportation provided. Managed or unmanaged singers welcome. Auditions by invitation only. Only selections from the opera will be heard for auditions. Prior performance experience of the role is strongly recommended. COMPRIMARIO AUDITIONS
Auditions for COMPRIMARIO ROLES in Chelsea Opera's upcoming May 15-18th, 2008 production of Douglas Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe are being scheduled for early February 2008 (SEE AUDITION SPECIFICS BELOW). All roles are open for consideration.  Most comprimario roles will be single cast.  Performances will be with chamber orchestra.

ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS
Chelsea Opera (D) NYC is interested in receiving materials from ensemble singers for its May, 2008 production of The Ballad of Baby Doe to be presented with chamber orchestra at St. Peter’s Church in Chelsea. A limited number of singers will be chosen. Ensemble singers may be considered for walk-on roles. Ensemble positions are volunteer. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SINGERS:

E-mail résumé (Word) and photo (.jpg) as attachments. Please DO NOT EMBED IMAGES OR REFER TO YOUR WEBSITE IN LIEU OF ATTACHING REQUESTED MATERIALS. Indicate role(s) in which you are interested and confirm where you have previously performed the role. NO CALLS. BABY DOE AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
We will be sending invitations to hear singers for all roles in The Ballad of Baby Doe which will rehearse April 1 through performances May 15-18. Auditions are slated for early February. All singers must audition with the excerpts listed below.   You do not need be off book, however, we will be considering both vocal and dramatic capability.

ONGOING COMPANY ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS
Auditions for section leaders are held periodically during the season for upcoming productions. Singers interested need to prepare one art song or aria, preferably in Italian. Volunteers are also welcome.
