by Giacomo Puccini

112 years ago, Giacomo Puccini sat in a London theater watching David Belasco’s play, Madame Butterfly. Despite not knowing much English, he was profoundly moved by the heartbreaking story.
Tenor Daniel Rodriguez returns to Chelsea Opera as Lt. Pinkerton. Join us in our intimate space where you, too, will experience the beauty and pathos of Madama Butterfly!

Performed in
Italian with the Chelsea Opera Chamber Orchestra.
This production is made possible, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council, and with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, celebrating 50 years of building strong, creative communities in New York State’s 62 counties.
